Linking Research and Practice:
Equitable Economic Growth and Sustainable Water Infrastructure
January 23, 2015
8:00 AM -4:30 PM
at St. Louis University, Il Monastero, 3050 Olive Street, St. Louis, MO 63103

Are you interested in working with others to develop an action plan to make the St. Louis region more sustainable? On Friday, January 23, 2015, join us for a conference focused on two key areas of sustainability – equitable economic development and water infrastructure.

The conference will provide an update on OneSTL, the regional plan for sustainable development, completed in 2013, and identify next steps for two key topics covered in the plan -- equitable economic development and sustainable water infrastructure.

The morning workshop will focus on identifying next steps and priorities for achieving equitable economic development in the St. Louis region. The session includes a conversation of panelists representing different sectors and perspectives. The panel will discuss why equity is important to the economic development, the challenges to equitable economic development, what is working and not working, and the best approach for allocating resources to benefit all residents.

The lunchtime plenary session will include an update on OneSTL and a panel discussion on regional economic trends, data-driven decision-making and opportunities to build collaborative partnerships for sustainable communities.

The afternoon workshop will focus on water infrastructure and the theme of blue, gray and green infrastructure. The session includes a round table discussion with participants addressing critical water infrastructure issues, needed research for evidence-based policy decisions, integrating planning efforts, and harnessing existing and emerging technologies.
