OneSTL Network Update
- Published on Friday May 27th, 2016
The OneSTL Network was created in 2013 as a mechanism to keep in touch with the hundreds of people that were involved with creating the OneSTL Plan. The original committee structure was created to complete a plan. Now that the plan is complete we need to re-organize in a manner that facilitates implementation. The OneSTL Network now consists of a series of sub-networks designed to offer support to organizations working on sustainability.
The OneSTL Network structure currently includes Funding, Technical Assistance, Communications and Engagement, Evaluation, and Leadership. These groups are currently forming so specific structures and activities are a work in progress. You can learn more and follow activities of the OneSTL Network at the Get Involved tab. If you are interested in participating in one of the groups see the sidebar on the Newsletter for scheduled meetings. A Leadership Network meeting is schedule for July 19. At this meeting we will discuss efforts to create a regional community development system through Invest STL and how we can collaborate with that effort through OneSTL.
In addition to the OneSTL Network, a number of topic-based working groups are forming with the intention of exchanging information and finding opportunities to collaborate. Two such initial working groups are discussing food access and Blue, Gray, Green Infrastructure. Early conversations identified the need to conduct network mapping so that organizations have a better idea of the full system in which they are working and to potentially collaborate on applying for grants as opposed to competing for them. Meetings and activities of these working groups will also be posted on the Newsletter sidebar and the OneSTL website Get Involved tab. The food access working group will be scheduling a series of meeting to discuss and map the regional food network. Blue, Gray, Green Infrastructure will be discussed at the next East-West Gateway Water Resources Committee meeting.
