Plastic Bag Awareness Day - April 13, 2019
- Published on Tuesday April 2nd, 2019
Plastic grocery and shopping bags are the biggest contaminant in our recycling bins! They jam sorting equipment at the recycling center and contaminate bales of good recyclables.
On Saturday, April 13, join the St. Louis movement to bring reusable bags every time you shop for groceries and other fun stuff! AND, always remember to recycle your plastic bags at your local grocery or retail store.
At select grocery stores (listed below), we will have Recycle Responsibly volunteers sharing information about this important region-wide educational campaign. Visitors will receive FREE reusable shopping bags while supplies last.
- Local Harvest (Tower Grove South)
- Straub's (CWE)-Straub's (Clayton)
- Dollar Tree (Kirkwood)
- Straub's (Webster Groves)
- Lucky's Market (Rock Hill)
- Walmart (Gravois Bluffs)
- Straub's (Town and Country)
- Pete's Market (University City)
Our partner business districts will also have something special for shoppers who bring reusable shopping bags with them on April 13, too!
