As teachers and parents scramble to figure out our children's education plans this fall, some of our priorities and values can fall off the radar in the chaos. This Sustainability Lab will focus on how OneSTL Working Groups and Regional Targets can help educators and parents connect global sustainability concepts to the local level, even through distance learning. The presentation will also demonstrate some activities using OneSTL's Wasting Less Regional Target to teach students about waste and waste reduction and OneSTL's Increasing Biodiversity Regional Target to teach students about local biodiversity research and benefits. Finally, the presenters will outline local resources for creating green schools and implementing sustainability education in any learning context.
Presenters: EarthWays Center Education Coordinator Maggie McCoy and Ecochallenge.org Director of Learning Lacy Cagle
