For something truly minimalist, consider giving memorable experiences instead of things, most of which eventually end up in a landfill. Concert tickets, gift certificates to restaurants or movie theaters, and registrations for crafting, cooking, dance, or music classses are all thoughtful options. You also can purchase memberships at the Missouri Botanical Garden, Missouri History Museum, Saint Louis Art Museum, Saint Louis Science Center, Saint Louis Zoo, and many other museums and cultural organizations in the region.
Finally, for an especially meaningful gift that has the added benefit of helping others, donate to a local nonprofit organization your loved one supports.
Happy sustainable gifting!
