St. Louis Regional Greenhouse Gas Emissions Inventory Released

The St. Louis Regional Greenhouse Gas Emissions Inventory was conducted under the collaborative regional effort of OneSTL. OneSTL is a collaborative sustainability initiative for the St. Louis region, which includes six regional working groups. The Energy and Emissions Working Group has embarked upon the effort to track and reduce the region's greenhouse gas emissions. It is important to note that reducing greenhouse gas emissions can have other benefits such as cleaner air and water, cost savings through more efficient transportation and buildings, job creation through entrepreneurship and technological innovation, and other economic development opportunities.
Initiatives by the Energy and Emissions working group to reduce emissions include promoting ordinances on building energy efficiency and electric vehicle charging and solar infrastructure and utilizing federal funding opportunities to reduce emissions in the region.
