Many schools want to go green, but don’t know how to start. Show-Me Green Schools is a suite of three programs co-managed by the Missouri Gateway Green Building Council and Missouri Environmental Education Association that provide structure, resources, and recognition to support every Missouri PreK-12 school in becoming a green school – no matter their starting place. In this session, we’ll briefly explore each program then dive more deeply into the Green Schools Quest and opportunities for OneSTL community members to serve as Green Mentors in the program. The Green Schools Quest challenges schools across Missouri and southern Illinois to implement student-driven, no/low-cost sustainability projects at their schools with the help of Green Mentors. Green Mentors are a diverse group of community members and professionals who volunteer to assist schools with project ideas, implementation, and resources. Join us to learn more about how you can help a local school go green!
