Success Spotlight: Solar 101 Training

This past year, StraightUp Solar completed a Solar 101 workforce training class in collaboration with Employment Connection. The training included an overview of solar company operations, a safety presentation, and a tour of a commercial installations. “This relationship has been a success for StraightUp Solar to meet and recruit in a non-traditional way,” saysStraight Up Solar’s Director of Business Development Eric Schneider. "StraightUp Solar values the partnership with Employment Connections to identify and train new entrants into the solar industry. We provided each class a solar orientation and a field trip to one of our installations. Program participants learned team safety skills and the tools of the trade and gained an understanding of the daily tasks of a solar installer. We also meet with individual class members in an interview setting to see if they can fit an immediate need for our company.”
