3:45 - 4:45: Presentation and discussion on Designing Sustainable Public Spaces
Emerging from a time of isolation, how does one convey a sense of “place” to connect with our physical environment? Successful place-making builds on the strengthsof a site, blurs the boundaries, and provides new opportunities for interventions to engage both the occupants and the surrounding community. A number of design strategies can be implemented to create a place that is valued and will stand the test of time. Joel and Amanda will explore elements and places in St Louis for what takes them beyond just a location, but conveys a sense of place.
